Not Yet: Arabic and Hindi in PDF or Image Output

Arabic and Hindi need right-to-left and complex-script shaping that our PDF and image renderer does not do yet. Rather than draw them wrongly and call it a translation, we do not offer those combinations at all. Both translate normally in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the text formats. Chinese, Japanese and Korean are fully supported everywhere, including PDF and image output.

Regional variants

Seven languages can also be targeted with a specific regional convention — the translation follows the spelling, vocabulary and phrasing of the region you pick instead of a generic middle. A variant is available in exactly the formats its base language is, and picking the base still works everywhere.

English English (United States) · English (United Kingdom) · English (Canada)
Spanish Spanish (Spain) · Spanish (Mexico) · Spanish (Latin America)
French French (France) · French (Canada)
German German (Germany) · German (Austria) · German (Switzerland)
Portuguese Portuguese (Portugal) · Portuguese (Brazil)
Dutch Dutch (Netherlands) · Dutch (Belgium)
Chinese Chinese (Simplified) · Chinese (Traditional)

Regional nuance is carried into the translation itself, not just the label: the engine is told the region and applies its conventions.

Why Language Coverage Varies

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and text files rely on the fonts and text rendering available in the application used to open them. PDF and image output is drawn by Lingivio, so every script requires supported fonts and text shaping before it can be offered reliably.

If Lingivio cannot produce a supported result for your selected file and language, the combination is not offered.

Choose Only From Supported Combinations

Upload your file and Lingivio identifies its format and source language. The language picker then shows only the target languages available for that file.

Language Support FAQ

Does Lingivio Detect the Source Language?
Yes. Lingivio detects the source language after you upload your file and shows the result before translation begins.
Why Are Some Languages Unavailable for PDFs and Images?
PDF and image output requires Lingivio to draw every character into the finished file. A language is offered only when the necessary fonts and text shaping are fully supported.
Can I See the Available Languages Before Paying?
Yes. The language picker shows the supported choices for your file, and the exact credit cost appears before you approve the translation.
